What We Do

image

Vicky's Pet Connection is a grass-roots, all-volunteer, "Guaranteed Placement" program. Every cat or dog that enters our program is given medical attention, social interaction, behavior assistance and TLC until a suitable forever home is found. We accomplish this through a network of experienced foster homes and on-site kennel facilities.

Where our Animals Come From

Vicky's Pet Connection DOES NOT take in animals directly from the public.  Instead, we work with local animal shelters to take in cats and dogs that might otherwise have been lost to the over-burdened, under-funded shelter system. Pregnant moms, orphaned litters and animals in need of aggressive veterinary treatment find the care they need - and loving, permanent homes- through our program.

Our Private Facilities

Built in 2004, our private kennel is a temporary home to litters of puppies and their moms, adult dogs, and often some cats in the lobby. Expectant moms are provided a safe and clean environment to have their puppies and raise them until they're ready to find permanent homes. Three outdoor runs behind the kennel are used by puppies and adult dogs to play and get exercise.  We also have an on-site cattery where an abundant number of cats and kittens are housed year round and a network of foster homes to care for our animals.  Our kennel and cattery ARE NOT open to the public.

Our Public Adoption/Outreach Center

In July 2007, our adoption/outreach center, the Critter Cottage, opened to the public.  The Critter Cottage houses a pet supply store- whose proceeds help support the mission of VPC- and also houses a handful of our adoptable cats who can be visted by the public.  Dog and puppy adoptions are done at the Critter Cottage by special appointment and during adoption events.  The Critter Cottage is staffed by volunteers who will be happy to assist you and answer your questions.

How Adoptions Work

Our goal is to match the right animal with the right home.  Potential adopters can see all of our adoptable animals on our website and can apply for adoption right online.  Adoption applications are reviewed by our experienced volunteers and a private adoption meeting is set up (most likely at the Critter Cottage) so that approved adopters can meet the cat/dog they are interested in.  If the adoption meeting goes well, the adopter can pay their adoption fee, sign our adoption contract and take their new best friend home!

Why We Need You!

We are a grass-roots organization run entirely by volunteers and 100% of our revenue is put directly back into our programs to help the animals. Please visit our How You Can Help Us page to learn how to make a finan cial or in-kind donation, or for information on our volunteer opportunities.   All donations are tax-deductible
